Narrative

On Sunday, May 21st, my daughter and I were napping when they woke up to toxic smell, smelt like something electrical burning, we exited the trailer immediately. Waited for the trailer to air out some and searched down the area (the under compartment assessable from the outside of the trailer, under the master bedroom area. We saw smoke coming from a box/plate. It said transfer switch on the metal box plate. We took the plate lid off and saw melted plastic, wires arcing, and missing screws. It also had torque rating and other information regarding what it was. We found 1 screw on the floor of the under compartment. After evaluating this transfer switch, we noticed there were more missing screws then the one we found on the floor. It was obvious that it was not installed properly or finished. I spoke with one of the warranty managers at the dealer we purchased it from, said he would talk to his boss as they would be in contact with Alliance RV as they work closes with them on warranty. Since we had no power (solar, generator, or shore power) our family had no choice but to pack up belongings and find somewhere else to stay for the time being. Since this was our home while we were in transition with selling our house. The dealer worked with the manufacturer and replaced necessary parts. After this it was hard to feel safe in the trailer, knowing the trailer was not manufactured properly or didn't have quality control before leaving the manufacturer. someone didn'
