Please note that although this system does not show that the recall repairs were complete, we have documentation from Nissan that we completed the recall work twice. On Tuesday, [XXX] at approximately [XXX]. our Nissan Murano spontaneously caught fire in our driveway. My family, including my [XXX] and a [XXX], woke up to the airbags exploding. We got our family out of the house as we spoke to the 911 dispatcher and the Murano went up in flames. Our doorbell camera caught the incident in its entirety (from the smoke under the hood to the inferno of flames) and the Montgomery County fire and explosive expert agrees that the start of the fire is likely from the ABS actuator issue stemming from Nissanâs recall in 2019. We are also hearing that itâs the worst spontaneous vehicle fire anyone has ever seen. After the incident, in good faith, we contacted Nissan North America who referred us to Nissanâs regional office for our area...they told us we have to hold the wreckage in our driveway for 8 weeks or possibly longer and that they will not help us mitigate it or provide a rental.
