The contact owned a 2020 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, towing a boat he heard a loud popping noise. The contact stated that the rear wheels were locked in place, and skid. The vehicle whiplashed and the right side of the vehicle collided with the guard rail and came to a stop and inspected. The contact observed condensation under the middle and rear of the vehicle and the drive shaft lying on the ground. A police report was filed and no injuries were reported. No medical attention was needed. The vehicle was towed to a lot where it was deemed totaled. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
