The contact owns a 2007 Kia Sedona. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, she was informed that smoke was emanating from the vehicle, after which she observed flames emanating from the engine compartment on the driver's side. Bystanders were able to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher. Local emergency services arrived. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the wiring harness. The vehicle was not repaired. A fire report was filed. A police report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the hood suddenly unlatched, opened, and smashed into the front windshield.
