PTU component failure. A loss of drive power increased severity of a crash and injuries. The problem has been confirmed by Jeep dealership service center. The vehicle/component has not yet been inspected. Mechanical grinding noise and loss of drive power, vehicle would continue to stay in motion and brakes would not work effectively.
