I have two Chrysler vehicles of the same timeframe. This 200 C and a 2017 Pacifica. Both of them have the 3.6 L Penta star V6. Both of them have had the same problem. Where the oil filter goes it is a plastic housing that goes to a metal oil cooler assembly. That housing becomes dry and brittle due to heat and cracks causing significant oil leaks. The van had to be repaired by the dealer at the cost of almost $1100. My 200 C started smoking real bad and actually had a small fire start on the back side of the engine that I was thankfully able to put out real quick. This is a known problem and from what I understand Chrysler has re-engineered these parts. This has been happening to a lot of these vehicles. I believe Chrysler should be forced to repair these vehicles via recall. This is ridiculous. Iâm looking at close to the same amount to get this fixed and that assuming the small fire didnât do any damage.
