Dear Reese Support Team, I am writing to raise a serious safety concern regarding your Reese ball mount product, which failed on me twice in a matter of hours while towing on the highway with my family. On May 25, 2025, I purchased a Reese ball mount from Walmart. While towing our trailer at approximately 55 mph, the trailer ball broke through the mount, forcing me to pull over on the side of the highway. I had to manually disconnect the hitch and, out of caution and urgency, immediately purchased a second Reese ball mount from another Walmart location. To my disbelief, while towing again with the second unit that same day, the exact same failure occurred â the trailer ball broke through the mount while I was once again driving at highway speed. This is not only unacceptable, it is extremely dangerous. My family and I were placed in a highly hazardous situation twice in one day due to apparent product failure. I have attached photos of both defective mounts, along with both purchase receipts.
