Narrative

I am submitting this report regarding a serious and potentially fatal unintended vehicle acceleration incident that occurred immediately after my vehicle was returned from repair. I originally brought the vehicle to the dealership’s body shop following a collision. The repairs included the replacement and repair of cracked grille covers, sensors, rear damage, and the rear camera system. The vehicle remained at the repair facility for approximately one month during the repair process. After finally picking up the vehicle, I drove and tested it for many miles without noticing any obvious issues. I then parked in front of a shopping center. The vehicle was fully stopped, and I shifted the transmission into PARK. After engaging PARK, I removed my foot from the brake pedal. At that exact moment, the vehicle suddenly and violently lunged forward on its own without any warning or driver input. The vehicle accelerated into a concrete pillar located less than two feet in front of the parking space. The impact was severe enough to deploy two airbags and caused a very loud, explosive sound inside the vehicle. The force of the collision shocked the interior seats and coverings, and I was left disoriented and briefly unconscious. This incident could easily have resulted in a fatality if a pedestrian or another person had been standing in front of the vehicle at the time of the unintended acceleration. I am requesting a full investigation into the cause of this sudden forward movement
