Pollutants are expected to range\nfrom Very Unhealthy to Hazardous.\n\nThis is a Statewide Air Quality Alert.\n\nPlumes of smoke from Canadian wildfires continue to drift across the\nregion today. Elevated fine particulates due to the smoke will\ncontinue through Friday.\n\nIt is recommended that, when possible, you avoid strenuous outdoor\nactivities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory\nconditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing,\ncoughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in nose, throat, and\neyes. You can help reduce air pollution by limiting activities, such\nas outdoor burning and use of residential wood burning devices.\n\nTips for households: Keep windows closed overnight to prevent smoke\nfrom getting indoors and, if possible, run central air conditioning\nwith MERV-13 or higher rated filters.\n\nFor up-to-date air quality data for Michigan visit the MiAir site:\nMichigan.gov/MiAir\n\nFor up-to-date air quality data nationally visit EPAs Air Now site:\nAirNow.gov\n\nFor further health information, please see MDHHS Wildfire Smoke and Your Health\nsite:\n\nhttps://www.michigan.gov/mdhhs/safety-injury-prev/environmental-health/your-health-\nand-wildfire-smoke"}
