The Air Quality Index (AQI) is\nexpected to reach the Orange or Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups\ncategory.\n\n* WHERE...Southern, central, and western Minnesota.\n\n* WHEN...Until 11 PM CDT Sunday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease\n(including asthma), heart disease, children and older adults, and\npeople who are active outdoors, may experience health effects.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ground-level ozone is expected to be high\nSaturday and Sunday afternoon across much of Minnesota. Mostly\nsunny skies, warm temperatures, and low humidity will provide a\nfavorable environment for two types of pollutants (volatile\norganic compounds and nitrogen oxides) to react with sunlight in\nthe air to produce ground-level ozone. The ozone levels will\ndecrease after sunset Saturday and be lower Sunday morning before\nincreasing again Sunday afternoon. Consider moving outdoor\nactivities outside of the afternoon hours.\n\n## Instructions\nSensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including\nasthma), heart disease, children and older adults, and people who\nare active outdoors, should limit prolonged or heavy outdoor\nexertion. Reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air\npollution, such as outdoor burning, and use of residential wood\nburning devices. Reduce vehicle trips and vehicle idling as much\nas possible."}
