Maximum\nsustained winds are 155 mph. Yap and Palau continue to face impacts\nfrom elevated northwest swells emanating from STY Bavi and the\ntrailing monsoon pattern.\n\nHazardous seas up to 16 feet will continue tonight at Yap, and up to\n14 feet at Palau, generated by an elevated northwest swell from STY\nBavi, and from elevated southwest monsoon swell and wind waves.\nSurging southwest winds of 20 to 30 knots with gusts to 35 knots will\ncontinue tonight, especially near any heavier showers, contributing\nto hazardous sea conditions through the next few days. Inter-island\ntravel will be dangerous. As Bavi continues to pull away toward the\nnorthwest over the next few days, the monsoon pattern will shift\nnorthwest with it, and winds, seas, and surf will gradually subside.\nEven so, hazardous surf conditions will continue through at least\nFriday afternoon, associated with the elevated swells.\n\nFor more information on Super Typhoon Bavi, please refer to the\nPublic Advisory issued by the National Weather Service under WMO\nheader WTPQ31 PGUM and the Tropical Cyclone Warning issued by the\nJoint Typhoon Warning Center under WMO header WTPN31 PGTW."}
