When the ice jam\neventually releases this water will flow towards the Yukon Delta.\nMost large Yukon River ice jams during recent years decay, erode and\nfail within a few days. The current jam at Russian Mission has been\nin place for over 3 days. Water levels are expected to quickly rise\nas the backwater makes its way downriver impacting communities like\nEmmonak, Alakanuk, Nunam Iqua, and Kotlik."}
