Ponding of water in areas is\noccurring or is imminent.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...\n- At 715 AM AKDT, river gauges in Bethel have detected a rise in\nwater level above 8.5 feet. River gauge reports indicate rises in\nwater levels from the Kuskokwim River back-up in combination with\nheavy rain across the advisory area. This is causing minor\nflooding from overflow of poor drainage areas, especially along\nthe Kuskokwim.\n- Strong onshore winds along the Kuskokwim coast have limited the\nability for the Kuskokwim River to drain out into the Bering Sea.\nThis has caused rapid river rises along the coast and inland into\nBethel. Water levels are expected to back up along Brown Slough\nand flood low lying areas of Bethel and areas along the\nKuskokwim.\n- For Kuskokwim River at Bethel:\nAt 6:50am the stage was 8.6 feet.\nFlood Stage is 8.5 feet.\n\nImpacts:\nAt 7.0 feet: Action and bankfull stage.\nAt 8.5 feet: Minor flood stage.
