Chuuk is currently located\nwithin the near-equatorial trough on the far outer southwest\nperiphery of TS Bavi, and will remain within its peripheral influence\nin the coming days as the storm strengthens and moves toward the\nMarianas, bringing it to the north of Weno sometime this weekend.\n\nChuuk is expected to remain outside of the direct wind field of\nBavi, but surging west to southwest winds around 20 to 25 knots are\nexpected to develop across the region south of the storm. Models\nsuggest west winds around 15 to 20 knots will begin to pick up for\nChuuk on Friday, peaking sometime Saturday or Sunday with potential\nto generate choppy, hazardous seas which could make inter-island\ntravel hazardous. Additionally, chances for locally heavy showers\nwill increase this weekend through early next week as this strong\nwest to southwest flow, directed by TS Bavi, funnels deep moisture\ninto a convergent wind field. Near-gale to gale-force gusts will be\npossible near heavier showers. As Bavi develops and begins to pass to\nthe north of Weno this weekend, west to southwest swell looks to\ndevelop, which will lead to elevated, and potentially hazardous surf\ninto early next week.\n\nFor more information on Tropical Storm Bavi, please refer to the\nTropical Cyclone Public Advisory issued by the National Weather\nService under WMO header WTPQ31 PGUM and the Tropical Cyclone Warning\nissued by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center under WMO header WTPN31\nPGTW."}
