The Air Quality\nIndex (AQI) is expected to reach the Maroon or Hazardous\ncategory.\n\n* WHERE...Northeast Minnesota.\n\n* WHEN...Until 11 AM CDT Friday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Everyone will be affected by wildfire smoke in\nthese concentrations. Minor trace amounts of ashfall are likely\nand have been observed with the dense smoke.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dense smoke continues across northern\nMinnesota. AQI values have already been observed in the\nMaroon/Hazardous concentration and will continue through the\nalert period. The smoke will persist until at least Friday, but\nthis alert may need to be extended.\n\n## Instructions\nSensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including\nasthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, should\nremain indoors and keep activity levels low. The general public\nshould avoid all physical activities outdoors. Reduce or eliminate\nactivities that contribute to air pollution, such as outdoor\nburning, and use of residential wood burning devices. Reduce\nvehicle trips and vehicle idling as much as possible. Keep windows\nclosed overnight to prevent smoke from getting indoors."}
