For the\nExtreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with high\ntemperatures between 100 to 104 and heat index values up to 115\nexpected.\n\n* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas.\n\n* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 8 PM CDT this evening. For the\nExtreme Heat Warning, from 11 AM to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during\nextreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high\nhumidity may cause heat illnesses.\n\n## Instructions\nDrink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of\nthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young\nchildren and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach\nlethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.\n\nTake extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose\nfitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning\nor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and\nheat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational\nSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest\nbreaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by\nheat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is\nan emergency! Call 9 1 1.\n\nExtreme heat is dangerous, especially for those without reliable\nshelter. Limit time outdoors during the hottest time of the day,\ntypically from 1 to 7 PM, rest in the shade when possible, and drink\nplenty of water. Locate nearby cooling centers through local\nresources or dial 2-1-1 in Texas.\n\nStay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed."}
