For the High Rip Current Risk,\ndangerous rip currents. For the Coastal Flood Warning, 2 to 3\nfeet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable\nareas near the waterfront and shoreline. The highest\nwater levels are likely with the Saturday morning and possibly\nSunday morning high tides.\n\n* WHERE...Kings (Brooklyn) and Southern Queens Counties.\n\n* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 8 PM EDT Sunday. For\nthe High Rip Current Risk, through Sunday evening. For the\nCoastal Flood Warning, during the times of high tide until 6 PM\nEDT Sunday.\n\n* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Widespread moderate to locally major\nflooding of vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.\nMajor flooding is primarily a concern for vulnerable communities\nalong Jamaica Bay, particularly along the north facing\nshoreline of the Rockaways. Expect 2 to 3 feet of inundation\nabove ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. This will\nresult in numerous road closures and cause widespread flooding\nof low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and\nhomes/businesses with basements near the waterfront. Vehicles\nparked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely\nbecome flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the\nwaterfront along tidal rivers and bays.\n\n* BEACHFRONT IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 4 to 7 ft along with\nelevated water levels will result in widespread dune erosion and\nbeach flooding. Localized overwashes are possible where dune\nstructures are compromised, resulting in some flooding of\nroadways and vulnerable structures behind protective dunes.\nDangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach\nerosion. Life-threatening rip currents are likely for all people\nentering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the beaches should stay\nout of the surf. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers\naway from shore into deeper water.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS....Another round of moderate to locally\nmajor coastal flooding possible for the Sunday morning high tide\ncycle.\n\n## Instructions\nTake the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If\ntravel is required, do not drive around barricades or through\nwater of unknown depth.\n\nInexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to\ndangerous surf conditions.\n\nIf you enter the surf zone, always have a flotation device with\nyou and swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax\nand float, and do not swim against the current. If able, swim in\na direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face\nthe shore and yell or wave for help."}
