The Air Quality Index (AQI) is\nexpected to reach the Orange or Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups\ncategory.\n\n* WHERE...Southern, central, and western Minnesota.\n\n* WHEN...Until 11 PM CDT Sunday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease\n(including asthma), heart disease, children and older adults, and\npeople who are active outdoors, may experience health effects.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ground-level ozone is expected to be high\nSaturday and Sunday afternoon across much of Minnesota. Mostly sunny\nskies, warm temperatures, and low humidity will provide a favorable\nenvironment for two types of pollutants (volatile organic compounds\nand nitrogen oxides) to react with sunlight in the air to produce\nground-level ozone. The ozone levels will decrease after sunset\nSaturday and be lower Sunday morning before increasing again Sunday\nafternoon. Consider moving outdoor activities outside of the\nafternoon hours.\n\n## Instructions\nSensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including\nasthma), heart disease, children and older adults, and people who are\nactive outdoors, should limit prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.\nReduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution, such\nas outdoor burning, and use of residential wood burning devices.\nReduce vehicle trips and vehicle idling as much as possible."}
