The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has\nindicated a potential eruption window between now and June 16th.\nFountaining episodes typically last less than 12 hours but ash can\nremain in the air longer depending on wind and weather.\n\nIMPACTS...If an eruption occurs, varying levels of ash, Pele's\nhair, and other lightweight tephra may fall downwind of the\neruption. Smaller particles can travel farther from the eruption\nsite and may affect communities at greater distances.\n\n## Instructions\nIf you live downwind of the Kilauea summit, or plan to visit the\nsummit area, stay informed about current volcanic activity and\nweather conditions. Be prepared to take precautions if needed,\nsuch as disconnecting water catchment systems. Follow all guidance\nfrom the National Park Service and the County of Hawaii. Be aware\nthat road or park closures may occur.\n\nThis statement will be issued daily and updated as needed."}
