The Air Quality Index (AQI) is\nexpected to reach the Orange or Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups\ncategory.\n\n* WHERE...East central and central Minnesota.\n\n* WHEN...From noon CDT to 9 PM CDT Tuesday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease\n(including asthma), heart disease, children and older adults, and\npeople who are active outdoors, may experience health effects.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ground-level ozone is expected to be high\non Tuesday afternoon in the Twin Cities metro area and central\nMinnesota. Mostly sunny skies, warm temperatures, and low\nhumidity will provide a favorable environment for two types of\npollutants (volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxides) to\nreact with sunlight in the air to produce ground-level ozone.\nOzone is expected to reach unhealthy levels during the afternoon\nand will subside in the early evening.\n\n## Instructions\nSensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including\nasthma), heart disease, children and older adults, and people who\nare active outdoors, should limit prolonged or heavy outdoor\nexertion.\n\nReduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution,\nsuch as outdoor burning, and use of residential wood burning\ndevices.
