For the Heat Advisory on Independence Day, peak\nafternoon heat index values up to around 105 degrees are\nanticipated.\n\n* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western\nKentucky, and southeast Missouri.\n\n* WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/\nFriday. For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Friday to\n8 PM CDT /9 PM EDT/ Saturday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during\nprolonged duration extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot\ntemperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight lows will only fall into the mid\n70s, providing little relief during this prolonged, extended\nduration of dangerously high heat and humidity.\n\n## Instructions\nDrink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of\nthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.\n\nTake extra precautions when outside this holiday weekend. Wear\nlightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous\nactivities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see\nsymptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.\n\nMonitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.\n\nTo reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and\nHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in\nshaded or air conditioned environments.
