For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one foot of\ninundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near\nshorelines and tidal waterways. For the High Surf Advisory,\nlarge breaking waves of 6 to 12 feet expected in the surf zone.\nFor the Coastal Flood Watch, one to two feet of inundation\nabove ground level possible in low-lying areas near shorelines\nand tidal waterways.\n\n* WHERE...Delaware Beaches.\n\n* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, from Tuesday morning\nthrough Friday afternoon. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from\n4 PM to 10 PM EDT Tuesday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 8\nAM Wednesday to 6 PM EDT Friday. For the Coastal Flood Watch,\nfrom Wednesday afternoon through late Thursday night.\n\n* IMPACTS...At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in\ncoastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal\nwaterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to\nvulnerable structures may begin to occur. Dangerous swimming\nand surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip\ncurrents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into\ndeeper water.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Significant beach erosion is likely through\nthis week and into the weekend. Moderate tidal flooding could\ncontinue through Friday or perhaps longer.\n\n## Instructions\nA Coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for\nflooding are expected to develop.\n\nBe prepared to begin taking appropriate action to protect life\nand property. Follow the recommendations of local emergency\nmanagement officials. Be sure to check the latest forecast from\ntime to time in case a warning is issued or any new information\nbecomes available.\n\nVisit the National Water Prediction Service at\nhttps://water.noaa.gov/wfo/phi for additional water level and\nflood impact information for your local tide gauge.\n\nInexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to\ndangerous surf conditions.\n\nAlways obey posted Beach Flags. If you enter the surf zone,\nalways have a floatation device with you and swim near a\nlifeguard if possible. If caught in a rip current, relax and\nfloat and do not swim against the current. If able, swim parallel\nto the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or\nwave for help."}
