Latest satellite-dervied surface wind data depicts 15\nto 20 mph west to southwest winds across western Yap State and Palau\nwith pockets of locally higher winds.\n\nWeather models point to a continuation of these conditions with\nperiods of locally heavy showers moving across the islands,\noccasionally bringing increased winds, gusts, and choppy seas. Both\nYap and Palau are in the monsoon inflow of Invest 91W, located near\n13N142E, northeast of Yap. 91W is now the subject of a Tropical\nCyclone Formation Alert from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and\nshowers are expected to remain mostly numerous to widespread and\nheavy at times. Model guidance suggests 1 to 3 inches of rain per day\nwill be possible through Wednesday, especially for Yap.\n\nResidents should continue to monitor forecasts and listen for any\nmarine advisories that may be issued over the next couple of days.\nBe aware of the latest weather conditions and trends before traveling\nbetween islands.
