The heaviest rain and strongest winds will\nlikely occur between late Saturday night and Monday evening.\n\nLikely (70-80%) rainfall amounts and wind gusts:\n\nFor Whittier: 3 to 5 inches of rain; wind gusts up to 35 mph.\n\nFor Portage: 2 to 4 inches of rain; wind gusts up to 55 mph.\n\nFor Girdwood: 1 to 2 inches of rain; wind gusts up to 35 mph.\n\nFor Turnagain Arm: 1 to 2 inches of rain; wind gusts up to 55\nmph.\n\nFor Turnagain Pass, Hope, and south to Primrose: 1 to 2.5 inches\nof rain; wind gusts up to 35 mph.\n\nFor Sterling Highway east of Sterling, including Cooper Landing:\n1 to 2 inches of rain; wind gusts 30 to 45 mph, highest near Jean\nLake.\n\nThe combination of heavy rain and strong winds can make driving\ndifficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
