Midday satellite-derived surface wind data depicts\n15 to 20 mph west winds across Yap State with a few areas of stronger\ngusts north of Faraulep.\n\nComputer models point to a continuation of these conditions into\nmidweek with periods of heavy showers moving across the islands,\noccasionally bringing increased winds, gusts and choppy seas. By\nmidweek, models indicate the potential for a circulation to slowly\norganize as it passes between Yap and Guam into the Philippine Sea.\nAs this happens, westerly winds and gusts will increase with showers\nand thunderstorms. While these conditions will generally be felt\nacross Yap State, portions of the Republic of Palau could see heavy\nshowers and thunderstorms dropping south early in the week.\n\nResidents should continue to monitor forecasts and listen for any\nmarine advisories that may be issued over the next several days.\nBe aware of the latest weather conditions and trends before traveling\nbetween islands. Stay up-to-date with all the latest forecasts at\nweather.gov/gum and by following the latest information from your\nlocal Weather Service Office."}
