For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up\nto one foot of inundation above ground level expected in\nvulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. For the\nCoastal Flood Watch, two to three feet of inundation above\nground level possible in vulnerable areas near the waterfront\nand shoreline.\n\n* WHERE...Southern Nassau County.\n\n* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through Friday afternoon.\nFor the Coastal Flood Statement, until 8 PM EDT this evening.\nFor the Coastal Flood Advisory, during times of high tide Thursday\nevening and Friday morning. For the Coastal Flood Watch, during\ntimes of high tide Friday evening and Saturday morning.\n\n* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas near the\nwaterfront and shoreline, including roads, parking lots,\nparks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the\nwaterfront. Numerous road closures are likely, and vehicles\nparked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely\nbecome flooded. Life-threatening rip currents are likely for\nall people entering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the beaches\nshould stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep even the\nbest swimmers away from shore into deeper water.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Beach flooding and erosion likely Friday\ninto Saturday.\n\n## Instructions\nIf travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be\nclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of\nunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone\nproperty.\n\nIf you enter the surf zone, always have a flotation device with\nyou and swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax\nand float, and do not swim against the current. If able, swim in\na direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face\nthe shore and yell or wave for help."}
