As the front reaches the Brooks Range,\nprecipitation begins as rain then transitions to a mix this\nafternoon/evening. There is uncertainty with exact precipitation\ntypes, but Anaktuvuk Pass should mix with snow and freezing\ndrizzle between 3 PM and 5 PM resulting in a glaze of ice on\nelevated surfaces as temperatures drop near freezing this evening.\nAtigun Pass should transition to all snow by 4 PM with snow\naccumulations around a few inches. With rain and surface\ntemperatures above freezing to start the event, snow is not\nexpected to stick to the road immediately. With any heavier rates\ntonight, some slushy accumulations are possible. As the snow ends\ntonight, temperatures plummet into the 20s which could result in\npatches of ice by Friday morning. Any patches of ice will melt by\nthe early afternoon as temperatures rise above freezing."}
