The Air Quality Index\n(AQI) is expected to reach the Maroon or Hazardous category.\n\n* WHERE...Northeast Minnesota.\n\n* WHEN...Until 11 AM CDT Friday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Everyone is more likely to be affected.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very heavy smoke is expected across the\nArrowhead today, as large wildfires continue to spread. Hot\ntemperatures, when combined with the air pollution, will\nexacerbate health impacts. A frontal boundary will then spread\nheavy smoke further south this evening into Wednesday morning, as\nit moves across northern and central Minnesota. The onset of\nsmoke will be rapid. This boundary eventually passes through the\nTwin Cities and into southeastern Minnesota on Wednesday or\nWednesday evening, bringing heavy smoke even further south.\nAdditional rounds of heavy smoke are possible from Thursday\nthrough Friday morning across the alert area.\n\n## Instructions\nSensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including\nasthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, should\nremain indoors and keep activity levels low. The general public\nshould avoid all physical activities outdoors. Reduce or\neliminate activities that contribute to air pollution, such as\noutdoor burning, and use of residential wood burning devices.\nReduce vehicle trips and vehicle idling as much as possible. Keep\nwindows closed overnight to prevent smoke from getting indoors."}
