This will pose a\nmajor risk of heat-related illness.\n\n* WHERE...Foothills of the Western and Southern Olympic Peninsula,\nMiddle Chehalis River Valley, Southern Hood Canal, Foothills and\nValleys of Thurston and Lewis Counties, Lowlands of Lewis and\nSouthern Thurston Counties, and Olympia and Southern Puget Sound.\n\n* WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT this evening.\n\n* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase the risk of\nheat-related illnesses for much of the population, especially\nthose who are heat sensitive and those without effective cooling\nor adequate hydration.\n\n## Instructions\nDrink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of\nthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and\npets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any\ncircumstances.\n\nTake extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When\npossible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or\nevening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat\nstroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.\nTo reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and\nHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in\nshaded or air conditioned environments.
