Rough seas can sweep up the beach and over rocks\nand jetties, pulling people into a cold turbulent ocean. Rip\ncurrents will be stronger than normal and long shore currents\ncan move people and items in the water quickly away from the\npoint of entry. Local beach and cliff erosion is possible. Water\ntemperatures will also cool rapidly due to strong upwelling\nconditions during this time. Large tidal swings can cutoff\naccess to beach walkers.\n\n## Instructions\nStay off of jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside\ninfrastructure. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous surf\nand NEVER turn your back on the ocean. Monitor local weather,\nsurf, and tide forecasts at www.weather.gov/mtr."}
