The\nAir Quality Index (AQI) is expected to reach the Red or\nUnhealthy category.\n\n* WHERE...East central, southeast, south central, and northeast\nMinnesota.\n\n* WHEN...Until 11 AM CDT Monday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Some members of the general public may experience\nhealth effects. Sensitive groups, such as people with lung\ndisease (including asthma), heart disease, and children and\nolder adults, may experience health effects.\n\n* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy smoke has expanded further west into\neast central and south central Minnesota this morning. While\nsome improvement is possible this afternoon across these areas,\nadditional heavy smoke is forecast to move in from the south\nthis evening and persist through Monday morning. Southeast\nMinnesota will remain in heavy smoke through Monday morning. As\nfor northeastern Minnesota, increasing southwesterly winds\nthrough the day will lead to improved air quality for many\nthroughout the afternoon, though areas near the shores of Lake\nSuperior and the wildfires themselves may continue to experience\npoor air quality until the early evening. Only localized poor\nair quality will exist thereafter. Red, meaning unhealthy for\neveryone, is the expected AQI category for all portions of this\nalert.\n\n## Instructions\nSensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (including\nasthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, should\navoid prolonged or heavy exertion. The general public should\nlimit prolonged or heavy exertion.\n\nReduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution,\nsuch as outdoor burning, and use of residential wood burning\ndevices. Reduce vehicle trips and vehicle idling as much as\npossible.\n\nKeep windows closed overnight to prevent smoke from getting\nindoors."}
