In New York, Northern Nassau, Northwest Suffolk,\nSouthern Nassau, and Southwest Suffolk Counties.\n\n* WHEN...From noon Thursday to 8 PM EDT Friday.\n\n* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat\nillnesses.\n\n## Instructions\nA Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity\nis expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or\nmore consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time.\n\nSeniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health\nconditions are at an increased risk. Homes without air conditioning\ncan be much hotter than outdoor temperatures.\n\nUse air conditioning to stay cool at home or go to a place that has\nair conditioning. If you don't have home air conditioning, continue\nto seek out cool spaces each day as long as it remains hot, and for\na few days after if your home is still hot. Check on vulnerable\nfriends, family members and neighbors.\n\nTo reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and\nHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in\nshaded or air conditioned environments.
