## Narrative

An employee was working in the rod basket of a well-servicing rig when the operator raised the block into the rig derrick. The block bumped the basket, and the employee grabbed the side. His left middle finger got caught between the basket and the derrick, pinching off the end of his finger. The end of his left middle finger was surgically amputated (including bone).
