## Narrative

An employee was unloading a truck of pipe pile when his finger was pinched causing a right thumb amputation above the first knuckle. The employee was hooking up rigging from a crane at the end of the pipe pile which was beveled and significantly sharp. His right thumb was inside the throat of the hook as the crane operator was signaled to take the slack off of the rigging. When the hook was pulled into the pile edge the employee's thumb tip was pinched.
