## Narrative

An employee was unloading a truck using an auger machine when the machine became jammed. As he attempted to clear the jam by pulling on the belt, the belt started up again. His thumb was then pinched between the belt and pulley, amputating the tip. The machine was energized and the belt and pulley were unguarded at the time of the incident.
