The Settlement Agreement and Order of Consent concerns the Respondent's performance, under EPA oversight, of the Remedial Design for Operable Unit 2 of the Diamond Alkali Superfund Site. Operable Unit 2 is the lower 8.3 miles of the Lower Passaic River Study Area. The cost of the Remedial Design is estimated at $165 million and includes capping the lower 8.3 miles of the Lower Passaic River, bank to bank.
