Summary

On September 18, 2024, EPA filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement (ESA) to simultaneously commence and conclude an enforcement action against Rel-Tech Electronics, Inc. of Milford, Connecticut. The ESA addresses alleged violations of Section 7(c) of FIFRA, 7 U.S.C. 136e for failure to file or timely file an annual pesticide production report in connection with a registered pesticide producing establishment and requires Rel-Tech Electronics, Inc. to pay a $1,400 penalty. The requirement for registered establishments to report production and sales information for pesticides and other pesticidal products/devices helps EPA carry out compliance, risk assessment and risk reduction functions important for protecting human health and the environment. Without annual production reports, EPA cannot determine where and in what manner pesticidal products are being produced, sold, and distributed. FIFRA Section 7 reporting requirements are enforced federally and are not delegated to the states.
