Abstract

EPA is taking direct final action to approve revisions to the Maryland State Implementation Plan (SIP). The revisions provide for the establishment of a visible emission standard applicable to blast furnaces constructed on or after January 1, 1977. In particular this revision effects the casthouse building at the "L" Blast Furnace at Bethlehem Steel Corporation--Sparrows Point Plant. EPA is approving these revisions in accordance with the requirements of the Clean Air Act.
