Abstract

This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of a range of polymers <greek-a>-alkyl (C<INF>12</INF>-C<INF>15</INF>)-<greek-oh>-hydroxypoly (oxypropylene) poly (oxyethylene) copolymers (where the poly(oxypropylene) content is 3-60 moles and the poly(oxyethylene) content is 5-80 moles) also known as ethoxylated propoxylated C<INF>12</INF>-C<INF>15</INF> alcohols, CAS Reg. No. (68551-13-3) when used as an inert ingredient (surfactant) in or on growing crops, when applied to raw agricultural commodities after harvest, or to animals. Omnichem S. A. submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996 requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of <greek-a>-alkyl (C<INF>12</INF>-C<INF>15</INF>)-<greek-oh>-hydroxypoly (oxypropylene) poly (oxyethylene) copolymers (where the poly (oxypropylene) content is 3-60 moles and the poly(oxyethylene) content is 5-80 moles).
