This regulation establishes a tolerance for combined residues of bentazon (3-isopropyl-1H-2,1,3-benzothiadiazin-4(3H)-one-2,2- dioxide) and its 6- and 8-hydroxy metabolites in or on succulent peas. In addition the tolerance expression for animal commodities (meat, milk, poultry, and eggs) established in 40 CFR 180.355(a) is being corrected to that of the combined residues of bentazon and its metabolite 2-amino-N-isopropyl benzamine (AIBA). BASF Corporation requested this tolerance under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996.
