Abstract

This regulation establishes exemptions from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of L-glutamic acid and gamma aminobutyric acid on all food commodities when applied/used in accordance with good agricultural practices. Emerald BioAgriculture Corporation submitted two petitions to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996, requesting exemptions from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of L-glutamic acid and gamma aminobutyric acid.
