Abstract

This final rule revokes specific tolerances listed in the regulatory text for the insecticides diazinon, parathion, O,O-Diethyl S-[2-(ethylthio)ethyl] phosphorodithioate (disulfoton), ethoprop, and carbaryl. The regulatory actions in this rule are part of the Agency's reregistration program under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), and the tolerance reassessment requirements of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA). By law, EPA is required to reassess 66% of the tolerances in existence on August 2, 1996, by August 2002, or about 6,400 tolerances. This document counts 24 tolerance reassessments made toward the August 2002 review deadline of FFDCA section 408(q), as amended by the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) of 1996.
