Abstract
The EPA is approving the State implementation plan (SIP) revisions submitted by the State of Rhode Island for the purpose of meeting requirements of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 (CAAA) with regard to New Source Review (NSR) in areas that have not attained the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). In addition, EPA is approving revisions to Rhode Island's SIP pertaining to Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) program in attainment areas and other miscellaneous requirements. In general, these revisions make the Rhode Island PSD program more consistent with the current Federal requirements. The intended effect of this action is to approve the State's request to amend its SIP to satisfy the Federal requirements. This action is being taken in accordance with the Clean Air Act.
