Abstract

EPA is approving a State Implementation Plan (SIP) revision submitted by the State of Maine. This revision establishes and requires the implementation of the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) of 1990 with regard to New Source Review (NSR) in areas which have not attained the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). In addition, the revision contains minor changes to Maine's Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) program. The intended effect of this action is to approve the State's request to amend its SIP to satisfy the Federal requirements. This action is being taken in accordance with the Clean Air Act.
