Abstract
In this action, the EPA is approving a request by the state of Iowa to redesignate to attainment the portion of Muscatine County currently designated as nonattainment for the sulfur dioxide (SO<INF>2</INF>) National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). With this approval, the entire state of Iowa will be in attainment status for SO<INF>2</INF>. The EPA is also approving the maintenance plan for the Muscatine County nonattainment area which was submitted to ensure that attainment of the NAAQS will be maintained.
