MMPC-Live Consortium Marketing and Outreach ABSTRACT and SCOPE OF WORK The Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center (MMPC)-Live at the University of California, Davis is pleased to submit this administrative supplement for up to 2 years of support in response to PA-20-272, “Administrative Supplements to Existing NIH Grants and Cooperative Agreements” specifically related to support marketing and outreach activities in support of the MMPC-Live National Consortium. The mission of the MMPC-Live Consortium is to serve the research needs of research scientists using mice and mouse models to study and decipher the heterogeneity of diabetes, obesity, and related metabolic disorders in humans. To that end, this application proposes implementation of a concerted, organized, and comprehensive outreach plan to broaden awareness of the MMPC-Live Program beyond the host institutions of MMPC-Live Centers and instead among the broader national research community. This plan includes focused in-person outreach by exhibiting at scientific meetings and conferences, distribution of physical materials about the new MMPC-Live and Vibrant Programs both in-person and online, and the production and distribution of a slide set that MMPC-Live staff can incorporate into their research and other talks at large meetings, conferences, and other venues of opportunity. Specifically, this supplement would provide part time effort support for a dedicated and experienced outreach coordinator (Dan Port), travel and accommodations for up to 5 meetings per year, redesign and display of the pre-existing MMPC information exhibit booth to represent the MMPC-Live Consortium, purchase, drafting and distribution of brochures, slides, and other materials relevant to the MMPC- Live Program, and produce and broadcast professional informational and scientific webinars and other communication strategies to the broader research community.
