The contact noticed that the wires had been burnt which later caused malfunctions with the passenger headlamp and brake lamp to fail. The contact stated that while pulling into a stop at a stoplight they noticed smoke coming from under the hood of the vehicle. The contact drove about a mile and a half at a slow speed to the nearest certified mechanic who stated that the wire harness for the sliding door needed to be replaced.
