Narrative

RV was stored in an enclosed metal garage plugged into 50 amp service. Fire began in the basement compartment behind passengers seat where numerous electrical controllers are located such as; inverter, solar panel controller, awning controller, etc. Fire consumed the entire RV before fire department was able to extinguish the flames, building was also destroyed. Nobody was hurt or inside the RV although if someone was in the RV death or serious injury could have resulted. Manufacturer would not inspect the RV while it was sitting on site for 7 weeks but the Ocala Florida Fire Department inspected it (case 21-2941), building insurer ordered an independent investigation (NEFCO case 210914151). Also GEICO sent two investigators to inspect. All investigations confirmed the fire started in the basement where numerous electrical controllers are wired and mounted. RV was declared a total loss and had to be cut up to be safely removed from the property. No warnings or messages preceded the fire.
