The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, there was a smell of burned rubber, and upon inspection, the contact noticed fire coming from the rear windshield wiper. The contact pulled over and fire marshals extinguished the fire. A police report was not taken and no one was injured. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer and was awaiting diagnosis. The manufacturer was informed of failure and told the contact to call NHTSA. The failure mileage was 188,013.
