The contact owned a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact noticed there was smoke coming from underneath the hood. Upon inspection, there were flames coming from the engine compartment. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A fire department report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard; however, the vehicle was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
